We are really pleased to report that our project and onetime home Bentley Wood has been listed Grade II by the Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport.
Bentley Wood was designed by Serge Chermayeff as his family's weekend house and completed in 1938. In 2002, when the Twentieth Century Society requested that the house be listed English Heritage declined. But following our series of careful adjustments to the house, as well as the increased interest in mid twentieth century architecture, the house has finally been formally recognised for its architectural significance.
We wish the house, and its new owners, the very best for the future.
