This ambitious project for a self-sustaining (i.e no mains power or water) Eco Lodge in a remote location on the Atlantic coast of The Gambia in West Africa. We produced a number of designs for buildings constructed of compressed stabilized earth blocks. The buildings use the technology of domes and vaults in order to avoid the use of timber, a scarce local resource.

The Eco Lodge is not only a hotel but a learning centre and place for interaction between visitors and the local community, who are stakeholders in the project.

This project is currently under construction.
